I work in the demolition industry and was contracted to work on this house that has been vacant for just shy of 2 decades. This bottle, along with a couple bottles of 1972 Canadian whiskey, were found stashed away in the basement.

I get that it’s probably just a paperweight now, but a pretty cool find I thought!

  1. Don’t underestimate the charms of old Champ’ 🙂

  2. Definitely drinkable. 1985 champagne is by no means old either. If the storage conditions are right, will yield a lot of pleasure when opened.

If it’s in the basement there’s a good chance it’s fine.

And a reminder to the rest of you to drink your wines.

The most important 2 things are on the paper wrap. Was it kept on its side in a cool and dark place?
