    Sometimes it takes biting satire to expose vain bullshit for what it is.

    A small circle of brown people with crooked teeth smiling with him around a balut pizza roasted over a yak-dung fire with tumblers of warm milk and goat’s blood in a smoke-filled yurt, and a few words about companionship transcending language barriers would have been chef’s kiss.

    Although this sub being a refuge for working Kitchen Vipers is absolutely the best way to honor him, (and something I suspect would please him MUCH more than a sub just focused on him) it’s so nice to see something *actually* Bourdain related here.

    I’ve worked at a half dozen pizza places and Chuck E’s was the only one that used diced cheese. Also the only pepperoni I have had that is not snackable when it is uncooked, like eating a nitrate covered cold hot dog.

    Also the only place I have worked at that brushes melted butter flavoring on the crust, which is why it is so oily.

    Sad he’s gone but I do not miss him telling me how eating a burger was a metaphor for the human experience or some shit. Like bro just tell me the toppings and what it tastes like lmao. RIP
