  1. Mary Katherine, I use an apple peeler, corer, and slicer which makes it so much easier. I also use 2-3 different type of apples. I have a wonderful pie crust recipe that I've used for years. Your recipe is a lot like mine. I use two teaspoons of cinnamon too. Most recipes I've seen don't use that much. My fa.ily and I love cinnamon. I enjoy your videos.

  3. Apple pie and vanilla ice cream make sure you eat your meal first because if pie and ice cream comes first the meal will go into refrigerator for later !!!!!!!!!😅

    I just wondered why the different temps; high early, then lower temp for longer?

  8. An egg wash and sprinkle of raw sugar makes a beautiful pie. Excellent tip to let the pie thoroughly cool to allow the filling to thicken. I love the "rustic look" of the folded crust, too!

I love how the apples were piled so high that there wasn’t this big hole between the top of the pie crust, it looked so beautiful, I have actually made the pie crust for the Pot Pie and it was so beautiful for the first time ever. So I have some crust in the freezer and it’s coming out for Apple Pie🎉🎉, my family is loving all the good food they have gotten since I started watching you, thank you so much.   16. Well, Mary Katherine, I goofed up my pie. It all looked good until the end. I believe, personally, I would cut down on the 4 Tbls of butter. Cooked the 15 and then another 50 at the lower temp. Mine was runny and greasy looking because of too much better. It is in the refrigerator hopefully setting up. Will let you know if it helps! I also squirted some Lemon juice on my apple mixture earlier so my apples (granny smith) would not turn brown. I am wondering if that also affected the mixture?

  17. A tip I got in a baking class is to smear a little apricot jam on the bottom of your pie crust before putting in your apples. I’ve had some very astute grandmothers say I make a great apple pie and I think that’s my secret, lol!!
