I usually add it to stews/braises, but I tried air frying it for the first time and while it didn't quite come out right for my first attempt, I can see it having the potential to be really good.
Have you tried airfrying it before? What recipe do you use?

No.
I know this isn’t your question but a great application is to rehydrate in a tasty broth then fold it up in squares. Batter then you can air fry and it will plump up to juicy “chicken” cutlets. I’ve only deep fried it but I’m sure it can work air fried as well.
I’ve never even seen these before!
These are probably the same as the refrigerated, non-dried soybean curd stick things that some brands call fake chicken I think. tastes pretty good. I like the texture.
We await the results of your experiment. I probably wouldn’t put them in the fryer without rehydrating in a marinade containing a bit of oil first. Then maybe you could cut in strips and give them a few minutes at high temp.
I have these too I have been meaning to make them but have no idea where to start
Do you soak them before air frying ?
Yo, I haven’t tried air frying bean curd sticks yet, but that’s a cool idea! Maybe try soaking them a bit first so they don’t get too dry in the air fryer?
I wouldn’t do that. They are fantastic in soups, stews and stir fries.
I have air fried after rehydrating and marinating, and I wasn’t impressed. I like them pan fried
Yes they were chewy and not in a good way.
I’ve done it with tofu skin. Is this the same thing? I ripped them up into strips and marinated in teriyaki, then air fried at a very low temp to dehydrate. Best vegan jerky ever.
No. It’s withering away somewhere.
I’m going to bookmark this whole post, because of all the great ideas from here!
