  1. Not my Mom, she was ill and died young. But my grandma's beef stew or chicken and dumplings. I still make both. I made turkey dumpling soup after Thanksgiving with stock made from the turkey. It was so good.

  2. I don't really have a signature dish from my childhood that has any positive connotations. The one meal that I remember is a side of either broccoli or cauliflower (steamed) and the driest grayish pork chop you have ever seen. It was so bad and so overcooked and she made it so often that to this day the smell of pork makes me feel a little sick.
