So… I sowed 9 Chinense varieties on January 21st.

(Hallows Eve, RB003, Fatalii, Datil, Dorset Naga, KSLS, Sunset Peach Scotch Bonnet, Chocolate Hab, Monkey Face Yellow)

This morning, January 24th, I wake up to germination on 5 of the 9.

The ones that have germinated are Hallows Eve, RB003, Fatalii, Datil, and KSLS. I know the RB003 is the only superhot of those 5, but give me a break; 3 days?? That's seems absurdly fast. I've never even had Annuums germ in 3 days…! 4, minimum.

But, I was timing shit counting on 2 – 3 week germ times minimum, now im scrambling… lol

Anyone else experience such fast Chinense germination times? Either on those specific varieties, or others?

That’s just a small tip of root. It can still take more than a week to see any leaves. Don’t leave them on the paper towel too long

It depends a lot on the seeds, like how long theyve been stored and if theyve gotten cold/scratched.

When i sow superhots that i collected from my own plants recently (few weeks ago), they germinate very fast. I think the older the seeds are, the longer theyll take to germinate and the more duds youll have.

Two weeks ago I germinated several Chinense that now have leaves and are about an inch tall. They started sprouting after about 3-4 days, which is much faster than previous years, but I’m tracking the progress on my Aerogarden.
