New Spokane pizzeria specializing in Detroit style opens in downtown

SPOKANE, Wash. — From Detroit to Cheney, now in Spokane! Barrelhouse Pizzeria brings Motor City’s famous pizza to downtown.

Barrelhouse Pizzeria opened its doors in November and is serving up Detroit style and Neo-Neapolitan style pizza plus sandwiches and a full bar.

Co-owners Jennifer Hansen and Matt Lazarus wanted to bring a more elevated approach to downtown Spokane when expanding from their first location in Cheney, Barrelhouse Pub & Pizza.

It was important for Hansen and Lazarus to make everything in house from their pizza dough and sauces to sandwich bread and meatballs.

Barrelhouse Pizzeria is open on Howard Street between 1st and 2nd avenues Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until 9 p.m. Be sure to check out their weekday Happy Hour.
