Apart from burning it.

Put it in the oven for about an hour at 160C, covered with olive oil with the occasional peek throughjj.

Help much appreciated! I didn't know garlic coul burn at thst temp!

    They need to be submerged in the oil, not just resting in it. That’s way too little. Completely cover them, let them do their thing and it comes out consistently every time.

    This looks caramelized to me, not burnt. Did you taste it before declaring it burnt? Otherwise, I’d suggest taking it out sooner.

  3. Not enough oil & way too hot. But did you taste it? It’s not totally burnt and might taste ok.

    It seems like you use alot of oil but consider your making tasty garlic oil too and it won’t seem wasteful. Also try something more bowl shapped so its deeper and not so spread out. Stir it every half hour

    Smoosh that stuff up with a mortar and pestle. If it doesn’t have a bitter taste, and it looks toasted rather than burnt to me, it’s still delicious. Maybe not what you were after, but you add that into anything like sour cream or mayonnaise or just spread it on toasted bread, and it’s still gonna be heavenly.
