I made my first ever cheesecake, lemon, and it’s so delicious I could cry. It tastes exactly how I wanted it to. Probably could do with an aesthetic topping though but I love it just the way it is.

It’s a baked cheesecake using cream cheese and crème fraiche. The base is too thick though and I had to use a bigger cake tin than the recipe asked for as there was no way the mixture was going to fit in the smaller tin once the biscuit base was pressed down. I also left the oven door closed not ajar for 2 hours as the recipe stated after turning it off because it just looked like that’s what it needed. I’m glad I went with my instincts

Well done. Perfecting the recipe first is what matters 👌🏾.

Is aesthetic the new buzz word?

anyone watch Good Mythical Morning? Rhett pronounces it asstetic

in this case, your magnificent cheesecake, well done but I already imagine you would be aiming for a good looking topping if any.

    so…

    ie adding aesthetic?

simplicity is ingenious! i dont know a lot about cheesecakes, but that looks really neat, especially for a first time. ive been wanting to make one too but havent yet due to lack of oven and cream cheese is so expensive 😭

Congrats. I made a lemon cheesecake at school and failed miserably.

When I was cleaning up I found the sugar that I had forgotten to add to it, and it tasted awful and sour without it.

I bake cheescakes and got bored with the traditional one. I decided to play with some preserves in it. I found just a simple cheescake is always a hit. This looks yummy and hoped you enjoyed it

Most people who put anything are hiding a crack in the top. This is beautiful.

Congrats! Had a similar experience yesterday and I tend to not like what I bake, no matter what everyone else says. But this is a confidence boosting moment right here!

Lemon curd on top would be perfect! But that looks great!

Congratulations on making your first cheesecake! Lemon is such a refreshing choice, and it sounds like you nailed the flavor. A simple fruit topping or some whipped cream could elevate it even more, but it’s great that you love it just the way it is. Keep baking!

Beautiful & I would definitely show off the top! I have been making homemade ones for over 15 years & still haven’t made one without a crack on top!

    Definitely, way to go 👏

    Congratulations. You did well.

A wise man told me: “garnish for flavour, not looks”. My wise mother said “how it looks doesn’t matter to your stomach”

If there’s nothing missing taste wise, it’s finished.

You did a great job! No topping is needed it’s a perfect top that needs no extra razzle dazzle

  22. That’s awesome! I know the feeling, and the next temptation is to eat it all. Very dangerous!
