What is it about adverse weather that attracts the Weber guys?

Because we are a different breed. You gotta eat. And snow and inclement weather ain’t stopping us.

Primal instinct. Didn’t stop the cavemen. Also don’t like the house smelling like smoke

There’s just something satisfying about killing a pint while grilling up tasty food for your family out in the cold 🤷‍♂️

It’s the only grill that gets hot enough when it’s this cold.

It’s cold, and we’re lighting a fire. Checks out

There ain’t shit else to do when you’re snowed in and we aren’t afraid of the cold. Might as well grill some meat.

Prime grilling weather is where my beer won’t get warm while I’m grilling.

I cooked a bunch of chicken on the grill yesterday. I had a hard time keeping the grill hot enough. Considered bringing it in to finish it off in the oven, but decided to stick it out and let it finish.

Tonight we decided to finish off the leftovers since tonight is the real threat of power loss (Charlotte).

For me it was because I was out of power. Had nothing else to cook on.

For me it’s not weather so much as the temperature. The way lump charcoal smells when it’s lighting in the thin winter air is delightful.

Plus standing over a fire in the winter is pleasant. It’s quiet out, sometimes you can hear tree branches creaking.

In the summer there are days where it’s just too hot to enjoy being near a heat source.

I guess because we would even grill soup when it’s sleeting, not think twice about it, and it’s just another dinner for us.

I really dont want to tackle any large outdoor projects and I dont want to be inside watching movies.

I almost did some grilling today just to watch the ice melt off my kettles lid.

A Napoleon guy here, and I agree! I grilled up some lamb chops in this crappy snowy weather!

Bro I fuckin hate grilling in the summers in Texas. This winter weather is the best time to throw some meat on the grill and enjoy the flames roasting my hands as I flip the meat over.

Resilience. Triumph of the spirit (defined as fire + meat + booze) over cold.

  17. Dichotomy, maybe? The incongruity of “it’s cold AF outside, but I’ma cook great hot food despite it—you can’t contain me…and my damn Weber!”
Not very unambivalent, I know, lol, but that’s how I’ve felt!

  18. Cause that’s what dad did when we were snowed in.

Is it just me? I can’t cook a good steak when it’s under 40° with a steady wind. It seems like I’m blasting the F out of the meat, leaving it 30-40% longer on the grill……and it still doesn’t get a good sear and is wildly underdone when I bring it in to rest.
