What To Know

David “Puck” Rainey, known as a controversial figure from The Real World: San Francisco, has launched a new TikTok and YouTube cooking show called Puck Cooks after years out of the spotlight.
Now 57, Puck appears unrecognizable with long gray-streaked hair and a missing tooth, donning whimsical costumes while sharing recipes and cooking tips online.
Fans have expressed support for his new venture despite his past legal troubles and notoriety from reality TV.

David “Puck” Rainey, star of 1994’s The Real World: San Francisco, was one of the first-ever reality TV villains. The oddball bike messenger — who often fought with his housemates and was eventually evicted from the Real World house — has appeared on The Challenge and retained a public profile in the decades since his reality TV fame. But he’s kept a lower profile in recent years,  before beginning his new TikTok and YouTube cooking show, Puck Cooks.

The 57-year-old reality star sported long gray-streaked hair and a missing tooth as he instructed fans on how to make baked potatoes, pork cutlets, and other recipes in his new videos. He also appears in whimsical costumes, such as pigtails, leopard print leggings and, in one short video, a kangaroo costume.

Fans were supportive of Puck’s new venture, commenting on his first video “Love this, much support since the 90’s brutha” and “Glad you’re still here! We have lost too many already. Gen X Forevermore.”

In the decades since The Real World, Rainey appeared on Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Battle of the Sexes, where he appeared with his wife, Betty Garcia, whom he married on camera. He has also had several brushes with the law, including arrests for domestic violence, felony possession of ammunition, and suspicion of felony corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
