EUGENE, Ore. – Community members gathered on Saturday at the Unitarian Universalist Church for the Solidarity Fair’s Winter Free Market. The event, running for more than eight years, offers free goods and services to those who attend.
Attendees received clothing, food, and medical care.
“From folks living on the streets, to folks with kids, to anybody who just wants to come and be together and help each other out,” said Jacob Trewe, an organizer. “We believe that we live in a world of plenty. We have lots of opportunities to help out each other, so we might as well do it.”
Organizations like Food for Lane County, Occupy Medical, and MACE provided free services during the event. Organizers emphasized the no-barrier approach, ensuring anyone could stop by.
The Winter Free Market continues to be a vital resource for the community, fostering unity and support.
