I live right here and never been. Is it cash only? I just went to the golden nugget and my breakfast for 2 was almost $60. Told my wife we are never going out for breakfast again.

This is peak breakfast in Chicago. The fucking best. The menu graphics alone bring me back. Fun fact: Station Eleven on HBO was filmed in Golden House.

Love GHPH!! My favorite thing there is an abomination my spouse and I call the “hash mash:” corn beef hash with scrambled eggs and hash browns, covered in the Louisiana hot sauce they have at the tables and then mixed up all together on the plate before eating. Guaranteed hangover cure

It’s our favorite breakfast spot! I know the sausage links are jimmy dean but good lord they are the best links I’ve ever had. The waffle breakfast combo is my go to, while my girlfriend lives by the 1-1-1

Great breakfast spot.
Only real downsides are the hours and can be crowded sometimes.
Its only open till 3pm . I love breakfast for dinner.
It can get packed sometimes depending on what the show at the Riviera next door is.

Been living here for 4 years now. Was first in Rogers Park and had no idea this spot existed. Now I live in Uptown and can see the spot form my apartment. Went there one morning craving some diner style breakfast. Ended up going the following four weeks as well. Will continue to do so.

Used to work at the Riviera as a barback in the early 00’s. Golden House was a staple every shift once we were done setting up the bars and before the doors opened for the show at the Riv. A good cheap meal always helped with getting through the rest of the shift. Got to see many rad bands/musicians perform as well.
