good job kid! try to cook and learn more, you need it for yourself.
vampireshorty
Oh heck are those jalapenos in there? Radical idea.
SpunkyStarling
Nice! 12’s the perfect age to learn how to cook for oneself
marvinnation
Yeah but don’t burn yourself by putting it on your stomach

That looks amazing! You seem aware already, but Be careful on Reddit; never talk to people who private message you or show anyone pics of your face.
Sufficient_Coach7566
Good job, kid! If you ever have ramen that’s a bit too spicy, add a splash of milk! Makes the broth much more rich and takes the edge off the heat! Keep learning and keep cooking!
necro_steve
Great job! Looks delicious!
Violet_Archer
This looks great! My local ramen shop makes a delightful jalapeño ramen, I’ve never seen anyone do something similar at home! Definitely look into some jalapeño ramen recipes, that’ll help you amp up your spicy soup game for sure!! (And be careful on Reddit lol)

You shouldn’t be scrolling or posting on Reddit at 12 years old 🙁

What else do you enjoy cooking man? I was cooking about your age as well and I gotta say good work dude and keep it up.
Women love it when a guy knows how to take care of himself and knows how to cook. You are on the right path.
Demonique742
Noodles are a great starting point to learn cooking. Builds confidence and allows you to experiment with flavours and expand your palate. Have fun!
And as everyone else has said… take care on the internet.
Tkjpevo7833
Is that ramen? Looks good! Adding wakame or green onions makes it even better.
Andilee
Learning how to cook is beyond freeing! Turn it into a passion! The results are yummy snacks and treats you can hoard or share!
Repulsive-Ear-4840
Yum! If you like eggs you should make some soy sauce ramen eggs! They are super good and super easy
sixfeetwunder
Seriously get off Reddit it is very bad for your developmental health as a 12yo
PristineMixture3080
Nice, but a bit of advice that it’s rude to place your chopsticks like that. Rest them horizontally across the top of the bowl

Ooooooo yummy

Looks good! You got the pepper cuts roughly similar sizes, which is usually the thing people have to practice like crazy!
I hope the internet is kinder to you than it was when I was twelve. I know it just made me lie and pretend I was older. (It was kind of a different place back then, but even so.)
I work a job with people about two years older than you across the nights, and you’re the same age as my students, so I’m not going to pretend you’re not going to do what you’re going to do just because a bunch of strangers tell you it’s potentially dangerous and we’re old enough to be your dad. I’m not going to tell you it’s necessarily bad to keep looking at Reddit threads, either, because if you game, you’re probably already exposed to a load of the nonsense the internet offers, even if we (the adults) kind of wish you weren’t.
Just make sure you stay safe, know where the back button is, and keep your family or an adult you trust to look out for you in the loop if anyone gets crazy, and…maybe knock the age off the posts both here and in the future? It used to be pretty standard not to give out age, gender, or location, and Reddit usually preserves that element of the old message boards system unless you choose to give it.
Like, yeah, we’ll go easier on your recipes if we know you’re younger, but you’ll also get a lot of the same concern to see you online you’re getting here and above.
Adult Caveat I’ve Got To Give all aside, I hope you keep cooking and find good gaming communities with the people around you. And that your family buys you some tubs of miso, konbu, or bonito to experiment with your noodles with if it’s something you’re interested in beyond being constantly hungry.
The thing even pros work hard on for ramen is the broth, but the thing you’re going to crave as a teen is the carbs from the noodles.
Broth is easier to experiment with than making your own noodles, but there’s tutorials for both, and tier lists where people talk about their favorite store-bought noodles and packets, and texture and temperature of cooking seem to be the easiest things to fiddle with on noodles and pastas.
The guys on r/spicy usually have different sauce reviews and ratings if you’re still looking to stay online—though, half of us started at your age and we’ve blown out all sense of feeling by now, and we might not even feel those Jalapeños you’ve got there. Serranos are usually the next step up you can find in a lot of stores. (Personally, I was a scotch bonnet kinda guy, but birds eye chilis might be in your Asian market and those are another step up. Make sure to glove up if you’re going for either, though.)
Stay toasty, Spiceman.

someone the same age as me spotted i learned how to fry (and boil) and egg at 12. im gonna prepare to go nuts as a chef in restaurants.

Great job! That looks really yummy. I hope you liked it.
Just so you know, if you get too crazy with spice and citrus (limes, lemons, oranges), or even vinegar because of its acidity; you can get ulcers in your stomach! Happend to me. Be sure not to spice everything and keep starchy food on hand in case you feel a lot of burning in your stomach or chest. It will help calm it down in the moment. And of course, tell your parents if that happens.
As everyone else has already said- be safe online!
