Juliet’s in Stroud earned a place on The Good Food Guide’s list of its favourite French bistros in the UK, described as the “sophisticated big sister to Slad’s Woolpack Inn”.
The guide praised its modern European menu and “decidedly old-world French vibe,” noting the bistro’s elegant interior, which features black leather banquettes, mahogany sideboards and parquet flooring.
The bistro was praised for its “generous” portions with the final dishes like a butterflied mackerel scattered with agretti and bottarga, the size of a conventional main course.
The menu is designed as a series of sharing plates served in sequence, starting with smaller bites like an oyster or oeuf mayonnaise, before moving to larger dishes such as clams with Tropea onion and asparagus, or beef tartare with pommes allumettes.
The Good Food Guide’s list also includes Bavette in Leeds, Bistro Freddie in Shoreditch and Bistro Lotte in Somerset.
