Hello once again you beautiful and wonderful people!!
A lot of very nice things have be said about me and to me recently and I can't emphasize enough how much it means to me, thank you. I even had one person at the stand say "Oh good, I got in early" and another tell me I was "rewriting food history in LA"!!! It's hard not to develop a big head, but I am trying! The love you all have shown me is a bit overwhelming, but truly means the world to me. I love food and talking about food and learning how other people like and see food.
I want to return the love somehow and I am working on something for next weekend that I dont want to mention until it is ready. For now, I have some new equipment that should drastically cut down on the lines and wait times. Both increasing grill space and how fast I can make sandwiches.
The food:
LA Cheesesteaks, smoked beef short rib, smoked and confit beef cheeks, onions, bell peppers, garlic and cheddar cheese on freshly baked, handmade rolls, with a handmade beef jus for dipping – $10, or 2 for $18.
Dessert:
Browned Butter Apple Cider Brioche Cinnamon Rolls – $3
I made apple cider from real apples, a few types of citrus, zest, herbs and spices, then I used it instead of water in any part of the recipe that calls for water, or milk. Toasted the flour before baking, browned the butter, sautéed apples for the filling with sugar, spices and more apple cider, then frosted with a caramelized sugar and apple cider glaze.
Location:
Sunday: My usual spot next to the driveway to Barnsdall Art Park on Hollywood and N Berendo St from 12 to 5 (or until we sell out).
Insta:/Big_Beautiful_BBQ, I'll be posting there if and when we sell out so I dont spam this sub.
Also, HUGE shoutout to u/elizabeth_strano for some absolutely stunning food photography, I am in LOVE with her work. She is also a lovely human being to work with.
