HENDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A woman who was recently arrested and charged in connection to two separate murders has been formally indicted.
Gundrun Linda Casper-Leinenkugel, 52, is charged with murder after the death of her daughter. She’s also charged with two counts of attempted murder.
The woman is accused of poisoning her two daughters and her one daughter’s boyfriend at a Thanksgiving dinner that she hosted in Nov. 2025.
According to prosecutors, Casper-Leinenkugel laced a bottle of wine with a toxic chemical. Toxicology reports confirm high levels of chemical the victims’ blood.
The suspect is also facing charges in a 2007 cold case.
Prosecutors said the death penalty is on the table in this case. The last time a woman was executed in North Carolina was 1984.
The probable cause hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 10 has been canceled. The next court hearing in this case is Feb. 26.
