I swirly-piped the potato on my pie and I feel pretty gourmet about it.

    Recipe-ish:

It’s a TVP mince gravy situation. In a saucepan, fry off some onion and garlic, add about a cup of dry TVP (textured vegetable protein), lots of gravy powder (I used Bisto, a UK brand available in Australia), maybe about half a cup? I just play it by ear. Add enough water to make it slushy. Some salt, lotsa pepper, lotsa onion flakes, little splodge tomato paste. You can add diced veg if you want. Or some rosemary/thyme. Then let that simmer away on low as the TVP soaks up all the yumness. Add more water or gravy powder as needed as you go along. The potato is just a mash with Bonsoy soy milk, nuttelex, salt and pepper.
