So I decided to throw stuff into a skillet to see how it would turn out and this is what I got.

Marination for the meat: 1/2 cup of seasoning consisting of a mix of Worcestershire sauce, Cajun seasoning, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.

I would absolutely try this, looks like something that you should eat from a bowl with s spoon

An ex gf from ohio calls that goulash

  3. cosmic-squids

Id say this is pretty close to Midwestern goulash

  4. DanLikesFood

My dad makes something like that except he burns it and calls it “spaghetti” no matter the pasta shape.

Is there a sub for delicious food porn? Because I would absolutely smash that with a spoon. And some warm bread on the side.

That’s goulash. You just made what the Ottoman Empire sustained with. How is it?

  7. anuncommontruth

Isn’t this just hamburger helper meets goulash?

  8. MerryBerryMudskipper

I would imagine the name varies depending on location; but it’s universally regarded as delicious and nutritious and definitely not shitty

Green bell peppers are not my friend. But I’d pick them out and eat this with no reservations.

This is just a normal meal lol

You can add a sort of sauce mix and some water and bam banger meal assuming the sauce choice is decent, this is legit just hamburger helper without the sauce

Americanized Goulash. Looks tasty, but now I want Hungarian Goulash. 😅

  12. ArmchairCriticSF

I don’t see any cheese sauce.

  13. TrollBoothBilly

Looks fine to me. I would have used spaghetti sauce, but I bet the cheese sauce slaps.

I’d say a variation of Goulash! I do this all the time but with diced tomato added and shredded cheese instead of cheese sauce! Looks tasty!

  15. UnderstandingOld6189

This is just a gourmet hamburger helper

  16. NewLawfulness8000

Seems kinda like a gourmet hamburger helper — would definitely try that!

  17. MadamVoid

Did it taste good with that seasoning combo?

  18. Background_Being8287

I make something very similar and call it” Goulash ” ,i also add fresh mushrooms and crushed tomatoes. Salt, pepper and garlic powder are the only seasonings i use . But its really just add what you like .

  19. TwinMom2012

That’s lrettt much American goulash my boi

  20. Eggxactly1001

I’m from Ohio and we called the same.

  21. skedeebs

It’s essentially a casserole posted on the wrong sub. This might be a little heavy on the seasoning, but I can’t help thinking about the NY Times article yesterday about people who have stopped cooking and spend $200-300 on DoorDash every week. You made a good meal that would shame corporate fast food.

Basically made this a few days ago 🤌🏻

This would stain medieval peasants an entire harsh winter

  24. 3sadclowns

Wrong sub, this is normal food at worst but I’m still helping myself to at least 2 bowls.

  25. ShreekingEeel

Every Ohio grandmother will shovel this into your face

  26. Glidepath22

Pasta Campagnola of course (country style pasta)

I love food like this. My mom used to make this kind of thing when my dad was working at the fire station. I am now in my forties and my husband isn’t crazy about it this kind of thing, so whenever he is working late or out of town, I make this kind of thing and it takes me back home to my mom.
