Hidden away down one of Guildford’s quaint side streets is a humble Italian restaurant bursting with traditional charm and romance.

Cambio Marcia in Swan Lane is what is known as an osteria – a rustic Italian eatery typically a simple or inexpensive one.

Blending classic Mediterranean culinary heritage with contemporary flair, the menu is deeply rooted in cherished family recipes with a special emphasis on the flavours of Liguria, Northern Italy.

One of its signature dishes that has been handed down through generations, is Focaccia Recco hailing from a stunning town in Liguria.

This recipe, dating back to the 12th century, features a unique preparation of crispy, layered dough with decadent molten stracchino cheese.

Recent OpenTable consumer research has revealed that nearly half of Brits (49%) plan to dine out this Valentine’s Day, but are currently spending an average of two hour and 14 minutes searching for the right spot.

To help diners find their perfect restaurant match, OpenTable has launched its Top 100 Romantic Restaurants list for 2026, which includes Cambio Marcia.

OpenTable described Cambio Marcia as ‘charming’, ‘good for special occasions’ and a ‘neighbourhood gem’.
