I smoked ribs yesterday. I noticed the spots on my deck from dripping. I usually get it from the lower opening here the ashes come out. Today it was in several spots. I took a peek under the Kamado Joe and found these cracks. Is this concerning or to be expected? Thanks.

    Are you the original owner?

Open a support case with KJ. I bet they ship a replacement mostly no questions asked.

I have had my dome replaced twice and both times they have been great about it. The only reason I say “mostly no questions asked” is because they do want a few photos to make sure they are sending you the correct parts that exactly match your model.

It’s not good. I don’t know what they are called but i would take out all the ceramic bowl type pieces and see if the crack is visible from the inside. You might be able to get a few more miles out of it if you put some food safe adhesive on it. I would check with the manufacturer for guidance

It also needs a burn out if there is a lot of accumulated grease at the bottom. I do burn outs at least once a year, usually at the start of spring, and I never see grease dripping from anywhere. If you use your kamado more than I do you might need more frequent burn outs. Just give it a large batch of coals, remove all the metal pieces and open all the vents. Be aware that if it gets too hot for too long you can destroy your gasket, so try to avoid that.
