As someone who lives close to El Sereno, I've been wanting to try Tacquitos Indiana 2s but I guess they've been replaced by a stand that's listed in Yelp as the "Food 4 Less taco stand" because it's behind the parking lot for (you guessed it) Food 4 Less. While there's some street parking there, I'd say just use the Food 4 Less parking lot since, back there, it's not that busy (but technically, you're not supposed to park there).
Overall, the tacos were fine. No tortillas a mano and while I found the meats to be good—the cabeza was the winner between that, the asada, and the al pastor—my wife found her asada to be too salty. For six tacos + a a large agua fresca, it was $24 so I'm guessing each taco was either $3 or $3.50. In short: this is not worth driving across town for by any means but if you lived around the corner? You'd be happy with it. Overall: 7/10
Meanwhile, I've also been meaning to hit up Secret Pizza for a long time. Their location—on Monterey by Huntington—has pretty scarce street parking so just be prepared to hunt. I have to say: lovely courtyard here; I really enjoyed the feel of the space.
I tried a plain cheese slice, thin/NY-style. It was good: good crust and cheese plus enough tomato sauce for that umami hit. But it wasn't a remarkable slice either and at $4.50, it's not a bargain either. Again: if this was your local pizzeria? You'd be happy with it but is someone from Studio City or Huntington Park going to want to come out here for them? Probably not. Overall: 7.5/10
