Just got my first charcoal grill a few weeks ago. Been having a blast on it. Tonight I cooked up some ribeyes I had portioned out from a rib roast I cooked over the holidays.

I cooked a ribeye in a stainless steel skillet for the first time yesterday. I did that thing where the skillet gets so hot that the water skates around in it. Cooked it 3 minutes on one side, flipped it and did 3 minutes on the other side. Then turned the heat down and put butter in the pan with some crushed garlic, fresh rosemary, and fresh thyme. Then I tilted the pan and spooned the melted butter mixture on the steak repeatedly for about a minute.

Idk what I did but that was the best steak I’ve ever cooked. Grilling is good too but I just do the temperature probe and end up with a smoky tasting steak. This one was very flavorful.

Thank you for resting it before cutting. It looks perfect!

Outstanding cook. Open grill, the way it’s supposed to be.

Great job! When you rested it, did you wrap in foil for the rest, or just let it sit on the cutting board? Looks great!
