I instantly understood why Japan is famous for its fish cakes. One bite and it all made sense.

  1. Oden. One of the great pleasures of winter in Japan. One of those if you know, you know kind of things.

  2. I would like to try it but I’m too much of a fucking pussy when it comes to ingredients. I don’t like konyak(agar iirc?) and beef tendon

A lot of the food that looks the least appealing, tastes the best in Japan. Brown food in Japan is delicious. Gotta admit it took me a while to try oden cos I was originally put off by the murky puddle it sits in in 7-11, but now it’s a winter favourite. Cold version in summer Is good too.

Oden is amazing! I always get one of those daikon radish that soaked up all the broth.

At my local convenient store, they let you make ramen using the oden broth.
