I received it in a pack from the butcher, but the label on this cut was messed up! What is it and what can I do with it? Edit: Thank you all!!

    Chuck steak.

I salt these overnight, season with whatever steak seasoning I feel like, sear them, then slow cook them on indirect heat for an hour or so until medium.

They go on sale for $5/lb pretty regularly near me, so I eat quite a few.

Cook it low and slow if you have the time, it’s great in a pressure cooker too if you want shredded beef.

I have that exact same spatula. That’s my contribution.

Chuck steak. Great marbling. Marinate it in teriyaki and grill. You won’t be disappointed! 😉

Agree with practically everyone saying it’s chuck. Slice thin, marinate, skewer & grill.

Chuck roast. Used often in stews, pot roast (low and slow cooks).

I throw them in a sousvide for a long ass time. Colloquially known as “sir Charles” (cause it’s fancier than “Chuck”). Could eat without teeth

It’s a seven bone roast. It’s a chuck roast with the bone left in.

Bi chuck roast. Or 7 bone chuck roast . A cut more markets need to carry. The best pot roast or amazing bbq or smoked

Enlighten me why it’s called a chuck steak but shouldn’t be cooked like a steak. It’s deceiving to college kids.

In Australia we call that a Y Bone, 7 bone chuck is an interesting name though. Y Bone is fairly obvious, could someone explain 7 bone chuck. Serious question.
