    Avoiding individual foods does not guarantee weight loss. You could avoid sugar and still maintain or even gain weight, for example. To lose weight, you just need to eat at a calorie deficit.

    I try to stir away from calorie dense things like mayonnaise and potato chips, but nothing is off limits
