Hi All
I rarely use a coal divider and I’m unsure if it really saves much coal as keeping your BBQ at say 400f is going to use the same amount of coal anyway but will just be harder to get up to heat especially it winter.
Appreciate any thoughts, also those that use a divider do they find it saves any fuel? Also do the burn the coals at the back, front, left or right?

I think the divider is help you split up your cooking zones for different heats
I don’t think it makes much difference in the amount of coal burned, I just use it for a 2 zone fire. I generally go coals on the left, open space on the right but don’t think it matters.
I use the coal divider is if I’m am doing direct and indirect cooking on either sides. It can also be good if you are using the JoeTisserie. Otherwise, use a full basket if not doing multi-zone cooking.
Youtube videos allege the coals burn front to back. Due to the air at bottom entering in front.
