The leasehold for the “well-established” Italian restaurant Ponte Vecchio has been put up for sale for £35,000 with agents Sidney Phillips.

The King Street business has operated as an Italian restaurant since 2007, trading five evenings a week and producing sales of £180,000 in 2025.

The agents added: “Given the limited trading hours, there is undoubted scope for new owner operators to increase the trading hours and there is no requirement for the business to trade solely as an Italian restaurant.

“It could suit a number of other cafe, bar and restaurant styles.”

The agents say that over the years, the restaurant has developed a “loyal and reliable” customer base due to its creative menu.

Although the premises are currently structured for a restaurant, a cafe and a bar have previously operated there.

The Grade-II listed property currently includes seating for 34 customers, a “comprehensively” equipped catering kitchen, a service counter, a washing-up area, customer toilets, and two large storage rooms.

The listing has advised interested parties that the freeholder is willing to grant a new lease to the incoming tenant on terms to be agreed.
