Walked in at 6:30 on a Friday night and the wait was an hour and a half. 100% worth the wait, especially since there’s some great cocktail bars nearby to have drinks at while you are waiting – we opted for Scofflaw.
The steak frites were out of this world. Since we had this massive pile of fries we subbed the side of the Gretel Burger to their Brussel Sprouts which were also outstanding.
I personally didn’t think the burger was quite as good as their sister restaurant Little Bad Wolf, but still better than some others on the “best burgers” lists like Loyalist or Warlord.
All in all, probably one of my top 10 Chicago restaurants. Also relatively affordable – these two entrees plus four cocktails came out to $140 before tip.
