Two months after opening its doors to Coventry diners, a new Mediterranean restaurant is already proving a hit. Olive Tree took over the Cathedral Lanes spot previously home to Bistro Pierre, launching at the end of November 2025.
Specialising in ‘authentic Turkish cuisine’ the Olive Tree has so far gone down a storm with online reviewers, getting a perfect 5 star average rating from hundreds of opinions collated on Google and TripAdvisor.
The company’s website states: “Our award-winning cuisine, crafted with the finest ingredients, will transport your taste buds to the vibrant sun-kissed shores of the Mediterranean.
“Our dishes, crafted with passion and expertise, showcase the authentic flavours of Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine, ensuring an unparalleled taste experience with every bite.”

Writing on Google Reviews this week, Ioana-Andra Sandhu said in a Five Star review: “We had a lovely dinner here as a group of six and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and very attentive throughout the evening, which made us feel really welcome.
“The food was absolutely outstanding, a solid 10 out of 10. Everything was fresh, full of flavour and beautifully presented. We were treated to delicious house bread with a selection of sauces, which was a great touch to start the meal. To finish, we were kindly offered limoncello, a perfect ending to a wonderful evening.
“Special thanks to Volkan who looked after us so well, his service was exceptional and really made the night memorable.
“We will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Mediterranean food and excellent service.”
Also giving it five stars was Melissa Smith – she said: “Our first time here after a friend recommended. Food was fresh and tasty. The complimentary bread was superb!
“We had the whole marinated sea bream and sea bass. They both came with salad and potatoes. The staff were really attentive. Ahmet was our waiter and he was really helpful. We will definitely be coming back.”

The venue offers an extensive menu, which can be seen online. One of the signature dishes is the Olive Tree Special (£24.95) which the menu says includes a combination of chicken shish, lamb shish, lamb ribs, chicken wings, chicken beyti and a lamb chop.
The venue is part of something of a mini regeneration of Cathedral Lanes in recent years – Five Guys opened in 2022 and Daiu opened earlier this month, complimenting Italian restaurant Zizzi and longer term residents Wagamama, Cosy Club and Las Iguanas.
