I absolutely cannot stand when people make a buttery or sauce-heavy dish with shrimp and leave the shells on. The shells add little to the flavor, but leaving them on obligates me to shell every shrimp by hand while I eat, which is messy, or try to do it with a fork, which is awkward and inconvenient. If you really believe the shells add so much flavor to the dish, remove them beforehand and let them cook in the sauce in a mesh bag. Otherwise, shell the shrimp before you cook them.

I am confused as to why the shells, tails and heads are on the shrimp. Thereβs no enjoyment in having a delicious meal when you have to peel shrimp before eating them.
