That’s the closer end to the rib section. This could be grilled as a steak . Bring to medium and it will be fantastic

That has better marbling than the prime ribeye I was just looking at in Costco.

  3. Price per pound is the standard reference point. $8/lb is ridiculous. I’m simply not buying beef at these prices. Consumer indifference leads to higher prices.

3 years ago it would’ve been $14…prob’ly less.

  5. Who can afford a small chuck roast for $21. Chicken and pork is getting too expensive at this point

I keep an eye on the Tom Thumb weekly ad and have been buying Chuck roasts on sale regularly for $5.00 and $5.99 a lb. They kind of hide them away I guess hoping you’ll buy something more expensive. I usually have to ask for them when they are in the flyer or the weekly ad.

I love chuck in a crockpot or slow roasted, but isn’t that a lot of connective tissue in there, not just marbling? how else would you prepare this?

Ugly slab of fat & gristle. At least it was cheap-ish

$21 for a 2.7 lb. chuck roast… does anybody give a fuck about the working man or working families anymore?

That is a nice piece of meat right there.

Two of those at Costco is usually only $30. Might want to try shopping there for your meat.

Eh that’s probably steatosis. No harm tho if it tastes fine that’s great

Drop Sam’s Club and support a company that values their employees, like Costco.

  14. That cow got a shoulder injury at one point. Not a major one.
