Brio Italian Grille, a Tuscan-inspired restaurant chain, has permanently closed its Freehold Raceway Mall location.
The recent closure came after the restaurant’s lease expired, said Debra Countey, senior marketing manager for Freehold Raceway Mall.
“It was the end of their lease, and we are working on very exciting plans for the future of that building,” Countey said. “It’ll be an exciting new restaurant for the community.”
Brio Italian Grille serves northern Italian cuisine including steaks, chops, seafood, homemade pasta and flatbreads prepared in a wood-burning oven.
The location had previously closed and was resold amid its former parent company’s bankruptcy in 2020, before later reopening, the Asbury Park Press reported.
The Brio Italian Grille at the Quaker Bridge Mall in Lawrenceville permanently closed in 2022, according to 94.5 PST.
Two other locations remain open in New Jersey, in Marlton and Cherry Hill.
Mall officials did not provide additional details about the closure or what restaurant concept will replace Brio.
