My mother is celebrating a large accomplishment today and I wanted to get her a cake but she’s gluten free and I am not able to pay $200 for a cake this size. This is my first attempt at making a cake and it sure is harder than it looks!

3-layer gluten free vanilla cake with strawberry filling and buttercream frosting. Not pretty but sure tastes good. Lots of respect for all the pretty cakes because I spent a lot of time trying to fix the frosting!

Pretty good for a first time. Practice your smoothing the top and sides and piping and you’ll get better.

Very good first attempt. Looks like the cream was a bit too stiff? Pro tip: dip your spatula in hot water and scrape the cream for a glossy finish.

Great job! And making it gluten free is an extra challenge

I really love the color tbh. I’m super into colors that remind me of the coast / beach. It’s beautiful.

First time congratulations! If I were the receiver of the cake I would love it! It’s the love that is put into a gift not the actual gift!! Well done!

  9. You did a great job! You should’ve seen my first cake many, many years ago. 🥴😂

    You’re a thoughtful kid. I’d love this cake 4763373x more than a $200 cake.
