My favourite of the main chains. Not sure why.

  2. If I’m in Ginza, Kura is the last restaurant I am going to if I want sushi

Kura is a bad sushi chain. I tried it once, disliked it. I tried another location to see if it really was bad and it still was. When I need to quickly eat sushis and don’t want to go at a high end place, I just go to Sushiro.

Also it is very funny because Sushiro depending on the time, you may have a long queue, but Kura, never.

  4. Fyi, the place is called くら寿司, not just くら

Thankfully we have Kura in the states, pretty decent quality too

Ugh I’m in Shanghai and was so happy when they opened a couple years ago only to close down all three branches not long after…Guess I’ll have to make do with Hama and Kinsho.

Are you just visiting or do you live here?

If you live here, that’s a weird flex. If you’re visiting, I hope you had fun with the plate drop off and chance games on the tablet! That’s why I go there. It’s sort of an experience!

but, you probably could have had better sushi for around the same price.

Like I knock down like 12 plates whenever I go to Kura. That’s like what ¥2000?

I could have gotten a nice lunch sushi set for about the same price in Ginza. Maybe ¥3000, and the sushi would be 100x better.

I’m sure the ones in Japan are much better than in the US. The one in D.C. had flies everywhere and the sushi was warm 🤮
