Have been to Disfrutar a couple of times now and it still remains my favourite restaurant in the world after visiting 200+ starred restaurants. It manages to stay insanely creative while still being genuinely delicious.
Service:
Very friendly and professional overall, but less polished than other 2*/3* restaurants. Small details stood out — wine poured across the table instead of stepping around, water refills sometimes a bit slow. Nothing that ruins the experience, just noticeable at this level.
Food:
1 + 2: Caviar ball / Panchino with caviar & sour cream
My favourite dish here and honestly one of the best bites I’ve ever had anywhere. Soft, warm, slightly sweet dough with rich umami from the caviar. It looks playful but the balance is unreal. This is one of their signature dishes and there’s a reason it’s become iconic.
3: Bread with caviar and butter that instantly melts in your mouth.
4: Pesto with pistachios and eel
5: Liquid salad.
6: Goose that laid the golden egg
Looks like an omelette at first, but the “yolk” is actually a warm, saffron-infused crustacean jus with crispy shrimp, prawns, and Singaporean-inspired aromatics. Hot, sweet, spicy, umami — creamy and crispy textures collide in a truly unforgettable bite.
7: Hoisin cucumber style dessert
Overall: Incredible and unique restaurant with every bite being absolutely delicious.
Bonus tip:
If you’re staying at the Mandarin Oriental Barcelona, definitely check out the rooftop bar. Great atmosphere and a perfect relaxed contrast after such an intense dining experience.

That Chinese caviar bun is truly a 10/10 bite 🙂
I see you went for the classics, even after many visits. Do you generally prefer their classics menu over the seasonal menu? I went for the Living Table for the first time last year and have been curious how the seasonal menu compares. Some of the surprises in the classics really only work once 🙂
can you make a comparison to El Celler de Can Roca? (if you have visited it)
