Does anyone know what model Kamado this is? Ive had a large BGE for years but saw this on FB marketplace for $100 and had to get it. 22 inch diameter.

My guess would be classic. It might measure 22 inches, but the grates should be 18.

And it would be the Standalone model that did not come with a cart or shelves. You can tell by the lack of shelf brackets on the lower band.
Although it did come with a wood or plastic handle bolted to the bracket seen in the pictures.

It is a classic 1 and a pretty old one at that. It is missing the top part of the firebox and the cast iron plate that goes in the bottom for the coals to sit on. This OG firebox and it is backwards. The notch in the bottom should line up with the metal vent. Then there is a ceramic ring which is missing that goes on top. Then that metal peice you have there sits on top of that. That metal thing holds both the old style solid deflector and the old style one peice grate. They don’t sell the solid deflectors anymore, but the pizza stone for the classic is the same thing. I’m not sure you can buy the solid grate either. If that doesn’t make sense i can dig out the manual to my 12 year old one and post a pic.
To get it up to the modern standards you’d need to put in the whole KJ-MPFB23 – Multi Piece Ceramic Firebox kit if you can find it in stock somewhere. That is like $190. You won’t find the ceramic ring. They stopped making them because they were so damn fragile. Best case is the original owner on the thing does a warranty claim for a new firebox. If it isn’t the original owner, then yeah you are buying the guts.
Then you need to put in new grate system. You can find aftermarket ones for $100-$140. I think i got mine on Amazon.
