Restaurant says the ‘rumours are true’ as it announces closure

A Merseyside restaurant has confirmed the “rumours” are true. Alba Melling, an independent, family-owned Italian restaurant and bar, specialising in fine dining, has closed.

The restaurant on Prescot Road is listed as permanently closed on Google and informed its customers of the closure on social media. The team said: “We are closed. Unfortunately, the rumours are true.

“We have closed our doors at Alba Restaurant with immediate effect. The building has been sold by our landlord and will reopen as a children’s nursery.

“Thank you. The Alba team would like to take the opportunity to thank our lovely customers for their support over the past three years. We will miss you.

“Fedup CIC community cooking classes will continue their work within the community at a different location. Bespoke buffets and catering will also continue – watch this space.

“Sincere apologies to our cancelled guests. Your booking deposit will be refunded to your card. Please allow 5–7 days for it to show on your account.”
