My chocolate peanut butter no bake cookies are fudgy and chewy, and come together so easily. They’re perfect, especially on hot summer days, when cookie cravings hit, and you just don’t want to turn on your oven but want to serve a treat that everyone will love. You only need a few ingredients and a couple minutes to make these delicious cookies, which are also known as preacher cookies, and cowpies 😂.

  1. My mom made these all the time and they were always fun and delicious. One time I decided to make a "Blizzard" out of them (crumbled some into vanilla ice cream). Delicious! DQ needs to make a no-bake cookie blizzard!

  2. My sister calls them "boyfriend cookies" because when she was a teenager and dating the guy that she would eventually marry, she would frequently make these for him to take home when he would come pick her up for a date because he loved them!

  3. My grandma used to make these, no peanut butter but with coconut at finely chopped walnuts or sometime pecans.

  4. We called these treats “Mississippi Unbaked Cookies”. I remember our neighbor making them in the early 1960’s with “commodity foods” given to people who were on public assistance——this was before Food Stamps, which is why schools also made them using government foodstuffs. I also recall that the recipe was from the USDA dietitians. I’m now 74 and remember how those commodity foods helped out my family when times were tough!
I’m always glad when old recipes are brought back to be enjoyed by another generation——I love your channel and often make recipes that you’ve demonstrated. Keep’em commin’!!!!

  5. I remember these from the school lunches in the ‘70s. I loved them then and I still love them today at 69. So thankful you did this video! You’re super!❤

  6. I adore these! I make them plain, with cocoa powder, peanut butter, cocoa powder and peanut butter, with or without nuts. 😋 I always have them in the freezer. I ❤ everything oats. These are fast and cheap.

  7. We call them cafeteria cookies up north! My grandma was a lunch lady, and these cookies were always a hit ❤

  8. Can I skip the peanut butter and put in raisins and walnuts. I love oats raisins and walnuts. I look for different ways to combine them.

  9. I used to make these cookies all the time when my kids were little. Thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories.❤

  10. I know them as Indiana Preacher Cookies. Makes me think they originated in Indiana, duh. However I got the recipe from my grandmother and she was as Southern as they come, Mississippi her whole life.

  11. My family love these. AND we love it when you sub coconut for the oatmeal and "stack" the cookie opposed to letting them spread out.. We call the coconut variety Haystacks.

  12. Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth & I was still in high school, my friends and I would frequently make these after school. To this day I still make mini batches when I want a sweet treat in a hurry. I always have all the ingredients on hand😊

  13. Some of you are assuming all no bake cookies are the same. They are not!! Each has a recipe and a name!! Preacher cookies are never made with rice Krispies!!! They are always made with oatmeal!!!

  14. So fun to see this video! My mom used to make these when I was small, 60 years ago or so 🙂 I forgot all about them, but I can sure taste them. This is a true vintage recipe from the 60s. Thank you this…I'm going to make them.

  15. I love no bake cookies, especially with peanut butter included. I everything to make these with so that’s my mission tomorrow.

  16. My kindergarten teacher gave this recipe to my mother about 66 years ago. We call them Chocolate Chewies. Her recipe contains 1 cup coconut, 2 cups white sugar, no brown sugar, and less peanut butter. This recipe has been a family favorite for over six decades.

  17. lol THAT whisk has to be a Virgo whisk!!
I about fell out of my chair when you chucked the other back in favor of that one. Surprise- I have that same one and all others suffer in comparison.

  18. Hands down, my favorite no-bake cookie out of everything that could be no bake cookie. My mom is the GOAT of making these my entire life. She's never once used the timer and never has an issue with them setting up. She says it's all in just doing it over and over again and it just always works. I will say, I do like whenever she uses crunchy peanut butter as well.
