While the world continues to obsess over Dubai chocolate and matcha, there’s one tried-and-true flavor I can’t get over. That, dear reader, is coffee—more specifically, tiramisu.
Creamy, delicate, wonderfully bitter and sweet, the Italian dessert is, in my opinion, the perfect dessert. Don’t get me wrong, it’s rich, and I know that richness isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But the espresso-soaked ladyfingers bring acidity and sharpness that cut so beautifully through the mascarpone, I always forget that I’m basically just eating cheese and eggs dusted in cocoa powder. If nothing else, that alone proves just how irresistible tiramisu is.
It’s no wonder so many snacks and desserts draw inspiration from it, from tiramisu lattes to tiramisu Oreos to tiramisu doughnuts. And while we’ve seen tiramisu chocolates in stores, we haven’t seen a tiramisu truffle until now.
Lindt Brings Tiramisu Truffles To Walmart
Lindt, the Swiss chocolatier behind the fan-favorite Lindor truffles, is bringing a decadent tiramisu-inspired chocolate exclusively to Walmart. The Tiramisu Lindor Truffles feature a smooth milk-chocolate shell, crunchy wafer cookies, and a melt-in-your-mouth filling made with mascarpone and coffee.
If you’re having déjà vu, it’s because Lindt first launched these truffles in its retail stores last year. While they are still available for purchase there, this is the first time they’re being offered in a wider release, which means more fans will be able to try them. And, to no one’s surprise, fans did not waste any time looking for these.
“Lindt has always had the creamiest truffles!” one shopper shared on the product page on Walmart. “Their formula is top-tier. This new Tiramasu flavor does not disappoint. It’s really milky with genuine espresso flavor.”
Another fan described the truffle as being a “game-changer”, adding that the “aroma alone is enough to get your taste buds dancing” and that the chocolate’s creamy center feels “like a warm hug for your senses.”
But just because they’re coming to stores doesn’t mean they’ll be available for long. One Instagrammer reported driving to their nearest Walmart, which is “over 30 miles away,” only to find “the entire shelf was empty for the tiramisu one.” And that was allegedly three days after the announcement was shared.
As one fan put it, tiramisu is a “dream flavor.” Given that there are no other tiramisu truffles that we know of on the market, we expect these to be hard to track down. Your best bet is to call your nearest Walmart to see if they’re in stock, then hope and cross your fingers they’re still there when you arrive. Otherwise, you could buy the truffles in bulk from Lindt’s website, but bear in mind that it will set you back $294 (in exchange for 800 truffles!).
If you have no business keeping 800 truffles stashed at home (I’m right there with you), you could try making them yourself. As delighted as I’d be to receive a bag of these as a gift, I’ll admit, a homemade tiramisu truffle would be even more charming.
