A corner of Rome in the heart of Indipendenza, a few steps from the Dateo metro stop, this new Roman restaurant (but truly Roman) is perfect for those who feel homesick or want to take a trip to the capital through its flavors. Da Davidino – Cucina Romana is a refined yet friendly place, where the food is excellent and the welcome warm. Delicious, not at all expensive, and with fun theme nights, Da Davidino is the ideal restaurant for going out with old friends or for a casual first date.

The interior of the restaurant is simple, the tables are covered with typical checkered tablecloths, and the huge wooden shelves carved into the wall are laden with numerous bottles of wine. Here and there, characteristic Italian elements pop up, such as the words “‘cci tua” on the wall or the sign symbolizing an old telephone booth, which makes you feel a little less like you’re in modern Milan and a little more like you’re in a narrow street in Trastevere.

The menu’s appetizers include the great classics of Roman cuisine, such as carciofi alla giudia ( fried artichokes with pecorino romano cheese and mint ) and zucchini flowers stuffed with mozzarella and anchovies. The first courses include cacio e pepe, puttanesca (slightly spicy, just like tradition dictates), and a creamy carbonara, garnished with plenty of crispy guanciale. The menu is rich but not excessive, with alternatives for celiacs and dishes designed to take you on a tour of Rome, one bite at a time.

Da Davidino – Cucina Romana has a clear idea of what it wants to offer its customers: a return to the past, more precisely to the beautiful Italy of the 1980s. For this reason, alongside bucatini all’amatriciana, the menu also features iconic dishes such as penne alla vodka. Finally, in a restaurant where conviviality is one of the pillars, Da Davidino is also open on Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the classic Italian Sunday lunch.

At Da Davidino, you’ll never be bored.

An active person, always smiling and quick with a joke, Davidino Marsili, also owner of the restaurant “Un Sacco Bello,” is the kind of person who cares about making his guests’ evening special. While Un Sacco Bello is the perfect place for young people to enjoy an evening of music, fun, and typical Roman cuisine, Da Davidino – Cucina Romana has a more refined atmosphere… but don’t worry, it’s not boring.

The restaurant, which opened in September, organizes themed evenings on Mondays, but that’s not all. Davidino also organizes “Diversamente Giovani”(Differently Young) parties, dedicated to those who are no longer “young” but are not quite ready to let go of their wild twenty-something selves. With excellent hospitality and even better food, what other reasons do you need to visit Davidino – Cucina Romana?
