
So, a co-worker conveniences me to stop ordering takeout and cook for myself for once, and so I tried my hand at making a smash burger. This is a double burger with American cheese, pickles, burger sauce, and an onion garlic spice mix
I’ve never used my current stove because I hate electric cook tops, and so the first go the pan I used lost too much heat and it stewed. This one worked out a little better after I swapped pans, but I still didn’t get much of a crust. It tasted alright though. I didn’t get to toast the bun on this one because I used the pan I was toasting buns in to cook it.
So it’s 40 degrees and max humidity and I’m drenched in sweat, and I have a kitchen full of dirty utensils and the combined ingredients cost me as much as two takeouts…but I enjoyed my sad little burger and I’ll give it another go some time soon. Plus a learned a few lessons.
