Great wine shop, but trying to get out of my normal rut of Cru beaujolais and Etna Rosso

What are we going with here? I’ve got my eye on the guidalberto, Cos, and Villiaine.

  1. Can anyone comment on the value of the A&P Vellaine at $80? Priced roughly the same near me and I’m curious.

Castello di Neive Barbaresco Santo Stefano bangs.

A lot of classic stuff but I’m not seeing anything crazy interesting for the price. What’s your budget? I think I spot La Miraja Ruche down at the bottom of the first image. That’s more interesting than most of these for a wine that’s $30 or less.

  4. That COS blend in the squat bottle far left is really fun.

I’d definitely grab the Pio Cesare Barolo, and the Damilano Cannubi Barolo.

  6. Nothing at these prices. Also why are these posts always only red wines

Get the Gaja Sito Moresco. Amazing Langhe. Pricy but worth it

Give me that Foillard Côte du Py that is peeking at the edge of the second pic.

Probably looking for a different store. There are some good things but they are all 20% more than I’m used to seeing them priced

  10. Sito Moresco and Camarcanda Promis! Chateau Lalouviere is pretty good in white….

Uhhh and also Sor Ugo! Unless it’s the 2019, not a great year

“Get out of my rut of cru Beaujolais”…time to stop climbing and stay in that rut my friend.

Considering where the shop is and not taking price into consideration as much. That Matrot Maranges is a good grab, COS, Gloria, and then I’d give in to my worst impulses and start grabbing Beaujolais and Riesling again.

I don’t fault the store for the prices, but it hurts my soul to see the Drouhin Cote de Beaune at the price I used to buy Clos de Mouches at. The reckoning of the wine industry is going to be nasty as the number of consumers continues to dwindle.

I’m a Sucker for anything Brancaia.

Dear God, the prices. I’m too European for these numbers. Le Difese for $56?!

Sor’ugo, you get a bolgheri superiore for 45$.

Morey St. Denis but just because I want to try it

  18. Valenation25

I’ve had great experiences with both Argiano and Brancaia!

Show me Spain! Based on your drinking habits I feel like you’d really dig Galician Mencia if you’re not already on that train.
