HOA changed the rules so I lost my propane grill.

F%&k them.

They said no ‘propane grills’. This is only my second time cooking with this little guy so I’m still getting the hang of it. Read: I over cooked all of these filets. 😠

I also made a bernaise sauce for the very first time. It was so easy I can’t believe I’ve never attempted it before.

    Yeah, I moved into an apartment building that allowed for propane grills on the balconies. But the fire Marshal made us get rid of them, so an electric grill was the closest thing I could get. Couldn’t get a good crust on a steak.

    My HOA essentially banned all but electric grills. We’re moving in a couple months because of it.

    What a crock of shit. That is too much power for an HOA to wield. So why do they have an issue with a propane tank? Safety issue? If that’s the reason, how long before they prohibit motorcycles in the neighborhood, or firearms, or getting on your own roof because it’s ’too dangerous’. I’d start canvassing the neighborhood with a notebook to get a feel for who has had enough. Then I’d take it to the hoa president and board and tell them a majority of homeowners feel what they’ve done is bullshit, and to call for a revote on the matter. If they don’t, cast a vote of no confidence and demand a recall election. Boot those control freaks out, and get some reasonable people running things. As soon as that happens, start investigating how to dissolve the hoa out of existence.

    Use a butane grill. If they get pissed off, plug your nose and use bradford pear pellets cook something for the dog or smthn idk

    It is clear OP is in a condo. There is almost no fire department in the country that will allow gas grills with full size tanks on balconies in an apartment/condo building. It is almost a certainty that the HOA was forced to crack down by the fire marshall

    HOAs are weird. I live in a rural area in a neighborhood right on the shorecrest of the Puget Sound. A lot of people live here part time in the summer or are elderly.

    We have an HOA but nothing is enforced. There’s some houses around here that are falling apart or have heaps of garbage in their backyard. I’ve never even spoken to anyone in the HOA or know anything about any rules or bylaws.

    But we do have a community pool that they take care of, which is cool in the summer.
