*not selling anything!*
Hey r/FoodNYC, I built bites.nyc, an app for you to rate, rank and share specific food items, not restaurants.
What's different: Every platform focuses on restaurants. But I don't want to know the best pizza place – I want to know the best slice. When I talk about food with friends, the conversation always turns into "did you try XXX" or "you have to go to [insert place] for their XXX." I wanted a way to actually log and compare all of that
What you can do: Rate items 1–5, browse rankings by neighborhood and category, see reviews, locations, share your lists with friends. Right now it covers cookies, bagels, burgers, pizza, and baked goods (coffee coming soon). Every ranking is purely community-driven – no ads, no sponsored content, no editorial picks.
Works best on mobile. Check it out at bites.nyc and tell me what you'd add or change.
One ask: sign up and rate your favorites. The rankings will only be as good as the people contributing! Early users who help build this out will be recognized: open to ideas on how 🙂
Any and all feedback welcome!

Idk beli already exists so…
Make a tab for French Onion Soup you coward. (Nice job, otherwise)
it only let me do cookies
Note- Can’t check the app right now so I can’t tell if this was done already
You should add a half star option or even more as that’s a major complaint for yelp/Google.
Another app?????
Man I was waiting for someone to do this!! Good luck, and let’s all make an effort to put some solid reviews in!
The UI is cool. Is there an app or just a site?
Cute! Cool! Smart! I like it.
I love this idea! I’ll sign up and vote this weekend. One question: Will you be able to form a personal list of “trusted reviewers” or something like that, or will the rankings be anonymous? For example, there are people on this sub whose recommendations I trust and use, and whose posts I seek out. Like, “this person likes the type of baked goods I like; I wonder which pizza they like”?
