an incredibly tasty wine. nose is full of macerated raspberries and bright acidity. acidity continues upon tasting + more raspberries, spice, and a super jammy red fruit note that is throwing me for a loop.
this wine is so good but I think if I blind tasted it I’d have trouble saying it’s for sure 100% PN (which isn’t the case for most if not all other sonoma pinot noirs I’ve had). Maybe it’s just knowing that is is an ehren jordan wine and having that Zinfindel association from when he was at Turley / his awesome Zins now with Day is giving me a bit of bias?
anyone had this – am I way off with the jammy notes I’m getting?

Failla is delicious.
Their Syrah also slaps
Love Failla, fantastic stuff. What’s this about most of your Sonoma Pinot Noirs not being 100% pinot? Unless I’m not reading your comment correctly? I’m aware of the trends of blending in things like Syrah for inexpensive shitty, or mass-produced examples but I feel like the very very very vast majority of the good stuff is 100% Pinot Noir, it’s not even close…
EDIT: I think I did misread it, you’re saying that this one in particular doesn’t necessarily feel like 100% Pinot where most of the rest of the examples that you’ve had from the region do?
Nice! Their Sonoma Chardonnay is great for the dollar, too
