When you want some tinned fish but can't quite decide what to have. 😅

Red Mullet in olive oil by Conservas Angelachu.

This was my first time trying mullet so my expectations… alrhough mostly neutral, the flavors I got were unexpected. at first bite I found the fish itself to be rich and very umami like, even though it was a little salty for my liking, the flavor of the fish still came through.

Granted, I wasn't a fan of the texture. If you enjoy the texture of canned codfish, this is very similar to how it finishes.

This is no fault of the cannery, I think this is just a texture I don't personally enjoy.

Overall, this is a beautiful and you can see the care that goes into it making it. it really is a stunning conservas.

I am happy to have experienced this unquie flavored fish, as for texture… I will pass on this next time.

If you happened to see my "Something Fishy" unboxing video, you will recognize this can. That where I got it from.

It doesn’t take a sophisticated palate to detect dry fish, my dear fishy friend – dry oil-packed tinned fish is a dealbreaker for me too.

What a shame, the visual of those red mullet in the tin was everything beautiful and exotic about tinned fish

    Great vid as always, Tyler

    Luv ya, buddy

Interesting. This has to be one of your first ‘negative’ reviews! (Although you’re too nice and probably loved the backstory and the old grandma and so you kept eating it!)
