Too burnt for me (probably would have applied bbq sauce towards the end due to high sugar content) but hope you enjoyed them.

You’re gonna get hate. But I like wings burnt or charred as hell. They look great to me 💪

Some people don’t understand that some char on sweet sauces doesn’t taste burnt and tastes caramelized. It is easy to go from char to burnt tho and it happens quick but there is a difference.
They look amazing!

Bachans is great stuff. Two sugary for the grill for me, but I’m glad you enjoyed them. They probably were great.

I keep seeing the Japanese BBQ sauce. Is it good? What is the flavor profile is it tangy or sweet or does it taste soyish?

I do something similar on a cookie sheet lined with foil. 20 minutes at 400, turn over, another 20 minutes. I mix the standard butter/Franks sauce but add a packet of dry Italian dressing mix and toss the wings. I put them on my outdoor grill, all 4 burners set to high and keep tossing them as they develop a char. Without the outdoor grill, I might put them back on the rack in your photo for a couple minutes to let the sauce cook a bit.
