Grounds come out in chunky clumps? [ECM automatik 54]
Does anyone have any solutions? My grounds always come out quite chunky and I have to WDT them away. I always use fresh non greasy grounds from a local roaster. This video is with grounds 3 weeks from roast date.

Have you cleaned out the chute? Might be buildup along the sides that’s getting pushed out as you grind.

If they ALWAYS come out chunky – not just recently – that is probably a limitation of your grinder.
Apply some RDT and see if that helps.

Isn’t the answer right there: “WDT them away.” Not at all uncommon–e.g. I’ve found that the Baratza Encore ESP can be the same, with my dark-roast beans. Interestingly, using the same burrs, the Baratza Encore ESP Pro produces non-clumpy, fluffy grounds, seemingly as the result of the grinder’s incorporation of ionization tech.

If this is recent development, clean out the grinder. It might be clogged a bit. either in the burr chamber or somewhere in the chute.

Mine always come out like this, but my grinder isn’t the best. But a cheap WDT fixes it right up.

Pretty normal probably would me more surprising if not at all

Doing RDT (for single-dosing, don’t leave a pound of moist beans in your hopper) before grinding will mitigate the static that causes the clumps. But either way, WDT is always suggested to properly distribute the grounds and avoid channeling. Unless you’re in a commercial environment, I’d suggest keeping your beans in the bag sealed with its proper 1-way valve (or an appropriate container that does the same) and single-dosing by weight with RDT prior to grinding if you want to keep static at a minimum. This also helps keep the beans as fresh as possible, since the hopper does not preserve them as well as a proper container. Though then there would be the potential retention issue depending on your grinder (which I’m not familiar with). Although, retention is a permanent kind of issue whether you’re single dosing or filling the hopper. Since I take it you’ve calibrated it to grind by time to consistently get your properly-weighed dose every time, I doubt you’re going to change to a single dose workflow. Just keep doing WDT every time, the clumps are not an issue unless you don’t WDT and just blindly tamp.
