From Azucar In Little Havana in Miami. The flavours are Cuban inspired. From Top to Bottom

Malta – 4.5/5 Malta Is a common non alcoholic beverage drunk in Latin America and the Caribbean it’s made from barley, hops and water. It has a toasted malt flavour with sweet molasses undertones. This ice cream captured the flavour well and was reminiscent of the actual drink not overly sweet. The notes of toasted malt was prominent.

Mamey – 5/5 Mamey was my favourite scoop I had from here. Mamey is from the Mamey Sapote fruit that has a complex taste akin to a sweet potato and pumpkin with subtle notes of cherry and caramel. Cubans make it into smoothies and it’s enjoyed across Latin America. I’m not a fan of the actual fruit but ice cream and milkshakes made from it is phenomenal. Perfect sweetness reminds me of a fruity pumpkin pie. Definitely recommend this flavour

Martecado- 3.9/5 this is inspired by a traditional Cuban cookie with the same name spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg made with lard. This was my least favourite out of the flavours I tried. It wasn’t bad but I didn’t enjoy the flavour beyond the nutmeg and cinnamon abit too rich for me

Abuela Maria – 4.1/5 This was the signature most popular ice cream it was cream cheese base with guava candy pieces and Maria cookies topped with extra guava sauce. I personally preferred the Malta and Mamey flavours. I enjoyed the chewy guava candy and guava sauce. The base would’ve been better if it was more cheesy giving a better contrast to the sweet guava. This flavour was very much on the sweet side for me

Overall I’d rate this spot a 4.5/5 great customer service and large selection of flavours. Texture of ice cream is heavy on the cream very American style. Definitely worth the stop when in Miami

Thanks for the reviews. I’ve had my eyes on it for a while because they sell online and I want to try the Abuela Maria because I love cream cheese and guava together. Too bad it wasn’t more cheesecake-y, though. I might still try at some point if they have some seasonal flavors that look good!
